yes, those were the days.

take your liberal blame and shove it where the sun doesn't shine.
And liberals could have advocated for civil rights without a nanny state, so you can take that liberal blame back and own it. Liberals usually try to deflect from their horrible policies by pointing to some victim group getting more rights. Doesn't wash.

And did you notice the word "regulated" applied to militia, while the right to bear arms referred to the people?

The word regulated has absolutely no bearing on the second independent clause "the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." Funny how liberals consistently ignore that fact.

There is no such thing as an illegal firearm. Only illegal usage of a firearm... which in this case was not an illegal usage, it was self-defense. And he never even fired it.

Laws that try to make the firearm itself (or ownership of it) "illegal" as laws do in this case, are unconstitutional.

He has a right to trial and should pursue it, with charges of false arrest and imprisonment. They basically terrorized him, worse than anything the burglar did.

The defense claims the gun was owned by the bodyguard, The state says the gun was unregistered - not registered to anyone.

Why didn't Bardwil have a legal registered firearm in his name? He could have owned a shotgun or got an exemption for a hand gun.

It wasn't his gun. I didn't see anything in there about a requirement for someone to require proof that someone else's gun is registered. There has to be a level of reasonable expectations here. If you hail a cab in New York, you don't have to inspect the cab's paperwork to make sure all of its licensing is up to date before you take a ride. If the guy hired an armed bodyguard I think it is a reasonable expectation for him to assume the arm in question was legal. And if someone breaks into his house while that bodyguard isn't present then it is reasonable for him to use whatever is at hand to defend himself, including that bodyguard's gun. The only person who should be guilty of anything here is the bodyguard for leaving his gun at someone else's house.
