How much do you think the war in Iraq was worth, in dollars? Was your figure more or less than $7.7 trillion? Because that's how much the war might end up costing, according to a new study from Brown University's Watson Institute for International Studies. So far, the government has spent $1.7 trillion on the war, but that's not counting $490 billion in veterans' benefits, which could grow to more than $6 trillion over the next 40 years once interest is added in, Reuters reports.
Projection for 40 years??? Don't worry Obama is cutting veterans benifits which makes you folks happy so it won't end up costing that much.
We were still able to print up 16 trillion to hand to Europe to bail em out since Sadaam isn't trading oil in euro's and neither is anybody else. So was the "cost" worth it? You bet your big screen TV it was. If the US loses world currency status you howlers will be howling a different tune and it won't be on you PC because nobody will be able to afford one.
Dick Cheney did not receive any money from Haliburton for the Iraq war. He was RETIRED before being selected as VP. What money he gets from Haliburton is his retirement pay that was guaranteed regardless of any future work or contracts.
Haliburton and its subsidy companies have have had a service contract with the US military since WW2 when it supplied kitchens and cooking services for the troops.
His stock options increased over 3000% to roughly 8 million dollars during the war. That's a heck of a lot money into his portfolio.
It is always easier to blame ones problems on the poor than ever look at the real issues.
GOP Super Pacs have done a tremendous job with bait and switch to refocus the public on the Obama phone lady as an example of what's wrong with the U.S. Sure beats telling the people how the U.S. was blowing $25 million a day in Iraq and there's no documentation to support it.

Well, necessary is a relative term. But speaking as an American, the U.S. gained nothing from participating in it that couldn't have been had otherwise--nothing legitimate anyway.
