Don't fool yourselves, guys. The withdrawal of assault weapons from this bills is a strategic move on her part, only used as a pawn to get this billed moved through the legislature faster, and in a position where even more far-reaching amendments in the future could be added.

It was the easiest way to do it.

wonder what this will do to the prices of 'assault weapons'

hopefully it means i can finally find some ammo that costs less than my monthly mortgage, too.

So in other words, a bait and switch
What is commonly done is to wait until a bill they know will pass is introduced. Such as a disaster relief bill, or a continuing resolution, or an omnibus bill, etc., and then slip this bill in and hope nobody notices. Like Pelosi said, "we have to pass the bill to know what is in it."

"...for now."

LOL

That's hilarious. If not "now," then when?

Let me answer for liberals: All of you who were slobbering from the mouth when Messiah Barack said "this time is different" must now formally accept the fact that you have been misled and lied to and otherwise trotted through the town square as mere worthless pawns in the gun control debate. The King wanted you to get upset at Republicans and those who "cling to their guns", and you listened to him to the point that it irrevocably clouded your judgement. Had any of you been able to see past your Barack Blinders™ you would have known that an assault weapons ban, regardless of Newtown, was nothing more than a Liberal Wet Dream with absolutely no basis in reality of actually occurring.

One day.....one day....you folks might finally wake up and realize that putting so much stock in one man was perhaps the folly of your lifetime.

Man, I've gotta check better before I throw a new duplicate topic up.

Good riddence, I can't wait to see the stupid panic end and I almost feel bad for all those people who bought neutered "assault weapons" at double the price. Obama is a hell of a gun salesman.

I condemn Harry Reid for stopping this bill. Republicans have chosen that their only action will be to do nothing on gun violence, and that should not be acceptable to anyone regardless of political views.

Gun laws don't prevent gun violence.

Exhibit A: The THOUSANDS of gun laws in America.

Exhibit B: The continuing gun crime.

Case dismissed.

Go away...

LOL at thousands of gun laws, You are saying that as if they are all used to curve gun violence when they arent. many of them are ineffective.

so what your comment should say is that ineffective gun laws dont work.
