It doesn't surprise me the OP has no understanding of the process.

Sen Reid is aiming for a vote on what can pass with the assault weapons coming as an amendment....

You are absolutely right. It is not acceptable that they should do nothing. They should have repealed the National Firearms Act of 1934 and the Gun Control Act of 1968.

Reid has thrown Feinstein under the bus. There will be no vote on her bill, or amendment. According to Reid there are less than 40 votes in the Senate for Feinstein's abuse of the US Constitution.

Feinstein in CA can afford to be psycho about guns and still get elected, Reid knows there are a hell of a lot of gun owners in Nevada and he still wants to be a senator after the next election.

He doesnt want to chance it, thats fer sure. Certain issues bring out voters in greater numbers, and he has not won any of the last 3one elections by enough to not sweat about it a little.

There are gun laws that regulate the materials used in guns so that flimsy material dont blow up in your face. Are you claiming those type of laws are there to curb gun violence ?

and LOL at "Now that you want more laws they are suddenly ineffective?"

when did you and i have a discussion on every single gun law on the books ?

What is even funnier is that what i just said the very argument Republicans on this forum are using, some how the fact that it is coming out the fingertips of liberals makes you laugh.

more proof your disdain has more to do with political lines than it does with whether you believe something is right or wrong.
