that's a birther myth. there is zero evidence that obama "spent millions of dollars in legal fees". the vast majority of the 202 birther cases obama hasn't even been a defendant:
of those he has been a defendant the birth certificate has never been required and in the MS ballot challenge proof of birth was supplied directly to the court from the HI department of health.
Now Hannity isn't a birther. I guess there's a limit to even his craziness, but why is it that when the right claims Obama isn't a natural born citizen they're asking a very valid question and gosh of golly why doesn't
uhm...hannity has always said, that obama was naturally born in Hawaii, and it constitutionally quallified for the POTUS
simple, obama son of a USA CITIZEN (mom) was born in hawaii, and is a natual born citizen
cruz, born in canada, of a USA parent TRAVELING, is also a citizen...and constitutionally considered a naturally born citizen
mccain, born in US TERRITORY in panama, to USA parents is a natural born citizen

Under US law at the time of his birth, Ted Cruz is a natural born US citizen and eligible for the Presidency. The relevant law is 8 USC § 1401 - Nationals and citizens of United States at birth, specifically paragraph (g) which reads:
There you go again obfuscating the facts. The truth is Ted Cruz was not born a natural born Citizen. Nowhere in 8 USC § 1401do you see the words 'natural born Citizen'. It defines 'Citizen' only. A “Citizen” is anyone born of American Parents, or born in the territories of America. But a “Natural Born Citizen” is a child born with both parents being US Citizens. The “natural born citizen” is one who at birth has no natural allegiance to any other country.
Obama's mother was a US citizen, so is her son. Even if a woman gave birth to her son in another country, her son does not lose his birthright to US citizenship. The most that would happen is her son would have dual citizenship until age 21.
I think the birther claim is that Barack Obama's mother renounced his US citizenship and made him a citizen of Indonesia, with his step dad Soreto, or however you spell it.
Huge problem with that one is that the phrase is natural BORN. That can't change after you're born so if Cruz is a natural born citizen just because his mother was a citizen then Obama is a natural born citizen just because his mother was a citizen

Somebody else may have pointed this out, but parents CAN'T renounce their children's US citizenship. Kids can only do it themselves, once they're within 6 months of turning 18 or older. Can You Lose U.S. Citizenship? - Law and Daily Life
