Florida college student allegedly suspended for not 'stomping on Jesus' - National Social Issues | Examiner.com

Quote from the article:
Faculty and students at academic institutions pursue knowledge and engage in open discourse. While at times the topics discussed may be sensitive, a university environment is a venue for such dialogue and debate," the school told WPRC in an email

Anybody think that the school would write the word Mohammed on a piece of paper, and ask students to stomp on it, in an effort to open dialogue?

Me neither.

Oy. That's just so overboard and out of line. There are plenty of ways to have discussions on multiculturalism and religious differences without having to "stomp on Jesus."

Why was the student suspended? The assignment itself noted that some students may hesitate or refuse to do it. The assignment was intended to test cultural and religious boundaries and exchanges. Something tells me there's more to this story.

Oh, there would be dialogue all right if the school used Mohammed's name in the exercise. Dialogue that goes something along the lines of "KA-BOOM!"

Wonder why he picked Jesus instead of Allah. Perhaps he likes having his head attached to his neck and prefers his entrails not hung from the flagpole.

You know why. If there was an incident of Mohammad or Allah being desecrated in anyway, shape, or form, followers of Islam locally and around the world would be up in arms. They would protest, riot, burn flags, and make the liberal establishment of the U.S. so uncomfortable that they would be forced to apologize and profess their love for Islam and proclaim that it is a religion of peace. However, Christians won't do anything remotely like this. They will get mad and write their Senator.

One really has to question sending your kids to some of these schools. They dont deserve your money, at least not all of them.

Love how we must be tolerant of bashing Christians but don't you dare speak anything but praise for Islam or gays.

Just to be clear, the student was suspended from the class. Not from the school.

Being suspended from the class is going overboard. The professor should have just given him an 'F' for class participation for refusing to participate.
