BINGO! Too many Gerber Life Insurance commmercials on TV....and I have to ask, why would you have life insurance on a baby? Seriously?
The only reason for me would be funeral expenses. But if thats the case the life insurance check would covering that and not much more. I really really hope this is not the case.
Ivorytickler: I know people grieve differently. However, when it is too odd, you have to at least investigate it.
You don't know that they aren't and just aren't saying so. However, none of us knows how we would react in such a situation. Denial is the first stage of grief and people are often on auto pilot.
I for one will not gang up on this poor mother right now. I don't know what is normal behavior after you've watched your baby shot in the face and killed. Do you know? Is there even a such thing as normal after something like this?
I assume the police will do their job and the right person will be convicted.
No, I guess not. I can only imagine what I would act like. Besides, how awful would it be to be the victim of false accusations. That goes for the boys in this case too.

Exactly. How many times have you seen families who have to depend on charity to pay for the funeral when a child dies?
My mother took out life insurance policies on us when we were born for that reason and they were just enough to cover the cost of a decent funeral.
Stories say the mom had the crematory dispose of the babies ashes and she's moving back to NJ. Sounds to me like mommy needed that insurance money to make a fresh start.

What I read is that the ashes were returned to the baby's father.
