Our rights have been stepped on many times by government....the Patriot Act comes to mind. Why aren't you outraged by that.

I was outraged by the Patriot Act, I'm outraged by our drone attacks in other countries, I was outraged by our involvement/war in Libya, etc etc etc. I assume all of that outrages you too right?

Bingo.

I've posted about this many times but the Hurricane Katrina, New Orleans police gun confiscation outraged me beyond all imagination.

I am not outraged about drone attacks because that means our guys are not in arms way. War does such a number on them and we treat them like crap when they get home. If drones can do their job then that's fine with me.

And what about gun confiscation in New Orleans, are you outraged? Are you calling your gov. rep because of it?

Gun confiscation in New Orleans was about ensuring the safety of first responders and emergency personnel, so that some paranoid gun owner wouldn't shoot the very people who were coming to his or her aid or the aid of neighbours. You know that. All you need in a situation like that is for gun freaks to be shooting what they thought were looters, who are really other citizens or even worse, police or emergency personnel. And if there's one thing gun owners are, it's paranoid.
