This is getting ridiculous suspending a 13 year old for a butter knife. Yet you can carry a knife onto a plane.

With all the press about kids being suspended for similar infractions in a zero tolerance environment, somehow this mother still manages to send her kid to school with a knife. How can people still be so dumb?

It was a known school rule and it resulted in a one day suspension... Get over it!

So do ya figure that the cafeteria has plastic knives to cut food? Oh my!!!!! The horror!!!!!!

One could injure someone with a pen and do as much damage if not more than with a butter knife. Maybe the schools should chain pens to the desks like in the bank. Whatta ya think???

Remember: It's for the children.

The school cafeterias these days actually sell school lunches that can be cut? Does tofu require a knife? Maybe they should have searched the kid's locker to see if she was hiding a couple of hard rolls and a can of regular soda, too.

A few years ago a high school girl was s upended for having a standard kitchen knife IN HE CAR.

Her family had been moving over the week end.

And some question why teachers and school officials are losing respect.
