Ugh, I hit the wrong button! Yes, I am in favor of marriage equality. Very much so.

Marrying 1st cousins is ridiculous and I have met and known children of a helper next door who did exactly that....married their 1st cousin and the teenagers are totally retarded. And btw way huge and control the household. This is not un-common.

And what does that have to do with my parents?

Are you insinuating that my parents are 1st cousins and calling me totally retarded?

How does this make them different from other teenagers?

You're the one who said marriages should be recognized across all states and that federal law should be the mechanism to enforce that. I simply probed your answer with a question about a specific type of marriage. I thought it was a very good question, especially since in answering it you backtracked from you initial response.
Um, I backtracked from nothing. I simply added that it is stupid to try and compare gay marriage to marrying a 1st cousin, much like it is stupid to compare straight marriage to marrying a 1st cousin.

Of course you backtracked. You initially said that marriages should recognized across all states - that all states should be required to recognize the marriages performed in other states, and that the mechanism to do that should be a federal law. You then backtracked and amended that by saying "well, but not for 1st cousin marriages."

Marriage is a religious ceremony under god.
You already have every right to be with who you wish to be. but because our government has granted special rights to people that are married, you too want in on those special privileges. I say remove the special privileges for marriage for everyone. Stay out of the who is with who, business. It is none of their business. Just another group to wage war against each other with.
Wrong. The Puritans specifically brought English common law marriage here because they viewed marriage as worldly and didn't want it to have any religious significance. Learn the history of marriage. It is not historically religious.
