Everyone hates lawyers until they need one.

I was a legal secretary, and then I worked for a state court clerk for almost 30 years. IMHO, most lawyers are incompetent (and I'm going to limit that to sole practitioners -- big law firms do not employ incompetent lawyers). Secondly, because lawyers are trying to make a living, lawyers often take on too much work and can't give proper attention to their clients. But most lawyers are not dishonest. Unfortunately, the few dishonest ones give the whole profession a bad name. Lastly, you have NO idea how many hoops the judges make lawyers jump through, and EVERY judge has slightly different courtroom rules, simply because every judge wants to just put his/her own personal spin on things. PLUS, the judge yells at attorneys, the court clerk yells at attorneys, and the attorneys' clients yell at their attorneys. (I would NEVER, EVER be an attorney.)

If we weren't pumping out so many lawyers, we'd see a lot less of this.

If I had anything to say about it, I'd close the bottom 50% of law schools immediately. Overnight.
I would say that the most honest lawyers are coming out of the bottom 50%...... the most evil and corrupt ones are coming out of the Ivy League schools....... I do agree with the rest though
