LOLZ! You guys are so predictable.

Quacks: (some ridiculous claim about health/science/nutrition)

Smart People: Uhh, that's not correct.

Quacks: Yes it is!

Smart People: No, it's not. Here's some peer reviewed literature that shows you are wrong.

Quacks: So? You paid for those results!

Smart People: Ok, show us the science that supports your viewpoint.

Quacks: Ummmm, uhhh....well...

Smart People: That's what I thought. Sit down and shut up.

No it's not. Anyone can run an experiment and submit it to a peer reviewed journal.

Robert Otto Becker was punished severely for conducting unfunded scientific research, and was set as an example to other "curious" scientists.

Not to mention Royal Rife.

America has its own brand of Lysenkoism.

It is called, controlled and controlling peer review.

Might as well just come out and call it what it is, Political Peer Review.

Its censorship level is equivalent to that of Victorian sexual taboo.

Can anyone show me any compelling evidence that GMO food is dangerous? Everything is a conspiracy to some folks. It doesn't mean everyone is conspiring to destroy the human race, or even thin the herd. What they are doing is inserting genetic material that was already present in the crops. Pretty soon, folks are going to be creating designer babies in much the same way. Certain genetic traits are simply more desirable. In the case of GMO, scientists are pushing towards greater yield, more resistance to disease and bugs, etc. People were burned at the stake 500 years ago for less, but I like to believe the human race has evolved a little.

How many folks have fillings in their mouths containing mercury? I would be more concerned about that.

I don't have a horse in this race but, as a former microbiologist, I do feel compelled to correct the above false statement.

An insect resistant genetically modified cotton was created using a gene from a naturally occurring soil bacterium to provide it with built-in insect protection.

The same goes for Roundup-ready GMO food crops (soybeans, corn, etc.)

Good points. Also interesting that everything in the main or public discussion is kept at the chemistry level and not at the levels that precede this. However, since the govt regulates, owns and funds it all not really surprising.
Good news is I think this is changing.
Earlier work has some very interesting information in it.

I'm not real familiar with Becker, but Rife was a quack who was largely discredited due to the peer review process...IE; no one else could replicate his results and people found out he was full of it. That's the same thing that took down Dr. Wakefield and his false link between vaccines and autism.

Your attacks are flaccid. Crying about conspiracies is just a short way of admitting the science isn't on your side.
