First off, you're off topic, because the question is whether gays have suffered and been persecuted. You're not denying they were, you're just saying that it's fine with you that they have been.
Second, nobody, gay or straight, chooses their sexual orientation, so having a sexual orientation is nothing like choosing to be a murderer.
1. no gays were never persecuted against.
2. even if your gullible enough to believe that they are born with a immutable attraction to members of the same sex they choose to act on it like a murderer chose to murder.

Says who? The government shouldn't be in the marriage business to begin with, it shouldn't "recognize" anybody's marriage. If people want to go down to their local church, mosque, synagogue and get married fine by me, but it should have nothing to do with the government.
Governments are always in the business of laws, and legal contracts involve laws. A marriage contract is a legal contract.

All it should say to a logical human being is that we have different parenting styles. You protect and shelter. I encourage my daughter to explore and learn about the world around her.
My daughter has practically unfiltered internet access when on her computer. Pretty much the only thing blocked off is porn. Right now, all she cares about is stuff like Disney and whatnot, but as she gets older, she'll have the internet at her fingers to learn and study and read as she sees fit. I had that growing up and it allowed me to learn skills and study topics that I might have otherwise never done.
I hear some people try to compare the gay marriage issue to what blacks went through. I just heard someone compare it to Jackie Robinson. Stop it. That's appalling. Homosexuals as men and women never suffered or are treated like blacks were. To make such a comparison is disgusting.
Civil rights are not being violated. You can do anything another normal man or woman can do.

The love argument is a failure. If you go by "love" then you have to open the door to things like multiple people. By this type of argument then we should we call those against polygamy and incest biggots now? They just "love" each other.
