I don't know enough about this so called monsanto protection act. But there is absolutely nothing wrong with GMO. This anti- GMO hysteria is based on quack science and it is being pushed by dishonest people.

What Is the So-Called 'Monsanto Protection Act'? Is It Eeeeeevil?

"by sticking this into a spending bill and not actually passing it as legitimate legislation, the "Monsanto Protection Act" will expire in six months —- and then this whole crazy process starts again."

Jesus Christ ... Just because everything he does isn't according to the liberal Bible, doesn't mean you wasted your vote. at the end of the day if he does 7 out of 10 Things U want from your president, then you're moving in the right direction. you should be okay with that. this is what separates modern liberals from ModerN conservatives. you shouldn't Fall for the all or nothing voting pattern

I doubt most of those who say this voted for him in the first place.

Don't feel too bad. I haven't felt good about my vote in the last 7 presidential campaigns. In each of the last 7 I have felt like I voted for the lesser of evils and that is no way to feel about electing a president. The majority of our presidents at least in my lifetime have decieved us, and most have since the turn of the century. I keep hoping to finally elect a president and congress that I can be proud of, but with each passing election I find myself in more dispair than the last election. New boss same as the old boss.....

This is a myopic perspective: Presidents don't have the line-item veto, and so have to evaluate the impact of the entire piece of legislation presented to them, including the ramifications of not approving it, in this case, perhaps resulting in a government shut-down due to one issue. Sometimes that would be worth it, but taking a stand on this one issue would actually do far more harm than good, because of how it would weaken national support for all manner of other considerations.

While it would be great if each issue was addressed in a vacuum, by itself, without cross-considerations, that's not reality. If you don't like that, then change it - first - before you complain about the reality of it.

Monsanto. Check.
QE programs to help Wall Street. Check
Let all the bankers off the hook. Check
Didn't close Gitmo. Check
Filled his administration with lobbyists. Check
Extended the earlier tax cuts. Check

Are you sure that you aren't at something closer to 3 out of 10?

We should be worried about relying on these GM crops. They would be easy to fall vicim to a blight or crop failure, possibly even an engineered one. If theres money to be made manipulating a harvest or orchestrating crop failure, you can believe somebody will do it.
Obama's in the pocket of big business, thats already known so no surprise there. Right wingers are defending Monsanto so you non brain dead lefties should be a little worried about Obama's selling you out again and again. And you righties should be worried too.
Think back to the potato famine in Ireland. They relied too heavily on one variety of potato and when it got blighted, they starved. Then they tried a little genocide on the irish people by preventing relief supplies from reaching them. It could happen again.
Again, if theres any money to be made in doing it.
