I think it's a bad bill but hey, you have to pay off those that own the Govt.

i can't find what's so all-fired terrifying and heinous about it either, despite having posted the entire section in post #175, no one else seems to be able to point it out.

This was in the House bill back in June 2012 but social issues and Romney's bank account took front stage.

Obama's in the pocket of big business, thats already known so no surprise there. Right wingers are defending Monsanto so you non brain dead lefties should be a little worried about Obama's selling you out again and again. And you righties should be worried too.
Think back to the potato famine in Ireland. They relied too heavily on one variety of potato and when it got blighted, they starved. Then they tried a little genocide on the irish people by preventing relief supplies from reaching them. It could happen again.
Again, if theres any money to be made in doing it.
crop failure due to overreliance on crops with a low level of genetic diversity has nothing at all to do with GMOs. this should be readily apparent in your own example of the irish potato famine which predated GMOs by more than 140 years.

speaking of which - genetic engineering is leading the way to resistance against P. infestans (potato blight).

here is how roy blunt described it. despite all the hysteria, i can find nothing to show that his statement is incorrect.

according to a contact in APHIS, this came about for one reason, and one reason only.

gibbering greenies were constantly filing court petitions against any number of experimental GM crops, filled with the usual specious nonsensical hysteria, even though the company already had permission at all levels [EPA/FDA/USDA] to plant and harvest.

their intent, of course, was to throw a monkey wrench into the research, and they very often would file these petitions near the time when said crop was ready to harvest, with the result that the company was forced to destroy months or even years worth of work on the basis of nothing more than someone's generalized whining.

this legislation will prevent that from happening.

that's it. the eeevil monsanto isn't trying to kill us all

Michelle Obama promoting healthy eating habits to our children while her husband sells out to Monsanto...nice. Yeah, I voted for him, sure regretting that now. Not that Romney wouldn't have done the same... When Monsanto owns the patent to ALLL of the seeds and owns the entire food supply of the US then it will be too late.
