Talk of the changing demographics in the nation, and in particular regarding Arizona, have been ongoing for some time. Why do you think the GOP has now decided to kiss the ass of the Latinos, Gays, etc.? Because the demographics of some states are changing and given the hateful/prejudicial posture of the "new" GOP as regards those groups ... there's lesser and lesser a chance the GOP will ever elect a President in the next decade or two. Maybe longer. You fail to realize that immigration laws are established by the U.S. Congress, in which the GOP holds some strength. Now we have someone suggesting the GOP and President are engaged in a joint campaign of subversion. Okay, I'll make the suggestion to pass-out the 'tin foil' hats so we can all party. LOL!
You fail to mention that this demographic change is mostly due to illegal immigration. Why should any politician thumb their noses at our immigration laws for votes? Yet the ethnocentric segment of the Hispanic community demands it. The GOP would be nuts to kiss the behinds of these people because they won't get any more of the Latino vote anyway. I see, so it is hateful and prejudicial to want our immigration laws upheld? Are you for real?

Most GOPers don't have a problem with a civil union for gays. What they object to is a traditional marriage for them. Should they sacrifice their beliefs for votes from gays also? I guess they would just become Democrats then on both issues!

You underestimate the level of apathy that pervades the minority electorate when someone other than a person of color is running for office. When the candidates are once again all-white, you can expect the enthusiasm that you seem to think is permanent to wane. 2008 and 2012 were (dark) skin color elections, and nothing more. When the shade of skin becomes lighter, the apathy once again sets in. This is precisely where Democrats demonstrate their extraordinary lack of foresight and begin to take constiutent blocks for granted. See history for your proof.

Hola Arizona! welcome to the 21st century.
An olive branch to whom? Illegals and/or ethnocentrics who think their ethnic group should be above our immigration laws? Oh gee, a sheriff doing what he gets paid for....upholding and enforcing the law. Oh, the horror! Hola? LOL! You're giving yourself away there "Chimuelo".

Democrat politicians think they can take their constituents for granted, as long as they keep throwing public assistance and social welfare their way.

I know it sound cliche, but minorities are really taking it in the shorts under 0bama. Poverty is at a fifty year high, Food Stamps (SNAP) participation are at an over-the-top historic high, and unemployment is in the crushingly high double digits. but as long as they throw welfare and food stamps to the masses, they think all the misery and poverty is a non issue.

Taco Bell. It's the name of a business. You don't know the difference? Why didn't you address the rest of my post?

In 1986, Reagan signed the Reform and Control Act,l giving complete amnesty to all illegal aliens, and then the GHW Bush only got about 30% of the Hispanic vote in 89. So it does not change Hispanic voting patterns by giving them citizenship, they will still vote overwhelmingly for democrats.

Which makes one believe the story they are reading is from CS Monitor. Where is the link to the original source (Christian Science Monitor)? I would prefer to read that over any stupid blog.

Exactly! Hispanics vote for Democrats because of the other issues also. Anyone who wants to claim that Hispanics will vote for the Republicans if they cave into this amnesty travesty is smoking some funny stuff. It is just propaganda being spread so that the GOP will go along with it in congress. I hope most of them aren't that stupid.
