"Assault weapon" has a definitive meaning. It describes a particular type of gun. To call ANY other gun an "assault weapon" is a lie. I use "lie" because the real definition has been explained to to the anti-gunneres and they KNOW the real meaning but, insist on using the term "assault weapon" because it plays on the fears and emotions of the ignorant, those that don't know much about weapons.

The size of the magazine has NOTHING to do with making ANY weapon an "assault weapon" and they know it.
Actually, the discussion on this thread shows that "assault weapon" does not have a definitive meaning. I agree with the gun-lovers to the extent that before you suggest banning something you should define what it is, and why banning it would increase public safety.
