You are in denial. Many minorities are moderates and former Republicans. They voted Democrat because they oppose Republicans catering to the extreme right wing of their party. If you think they voted for Democrats based solely on immigration issues, you are sadly mistaken. There is a perceived sense of intolerance and insensitivity toward Hispanics and minorities in general. And based on the responses, you can clearly see that. Instead of criticizing this Congressman, they are criticizing me and Hispanics for being overly sensitive. Like I said, be prepared for more losses. As long as Republicans like yourself continue to live in denial, you will continue to lose elections.

Yes, and simply ignore the racists views of the Democrats right? Damn hypocrites.

Conservatives deny this and conjure up conspiracy theories about all Hispanics wanting to protect our "amigos" as if we are personally friends with anyone who is Hispanic. And it's pretty to easy recognize the underlying racist tones in your response ie "amigos" You couldn't just say friends or contacts.
No, those border stops that are not actually at the border, are kinda tricky. The government knows how ignorant to the laws most citizens are. When going through those stations, you dont have to answer their questions. I know many are afraid to say "no" to somebody with a gun, but you are allowed to. If they brush up on the law, they can easily get through those. Same with DUI checkpoints.

Notice I said some, because you also have self loathing Hispanics who hate Hispanics as much as the KKK does.
Where did I even imply that I despise Hispanics? I have no problem with those here legally and that respect our immigration laws. Where has the GOP showed contempt for Hispanics? You mean because they want our immigration laws respected and enforced that means they despise Hispanics? WTH?

Yeah, and there are some radical Hispanic racist groups that despise the white man also. So your point is?

Initially, it wasn't clear enough for some but the law was re-written to make it absolutely clear that racial profiling was prohibited. So no, you don't know that law.

A racial slur isn't contempt for Hispanics? Yeah, WTH?

Uh, I already acknowledged that. I said they couldn't ask someone for ID without being stopped for an infraction first. However, after they were stopped, there was no clear objective criteria for asking for citizenship status. The law was vague and didn't specify criteria for asking for citizenship status and the implication is it was based on appearance ie racial profiling.

So in essence it was a form of racial profiling because their justification for asking for papers was based on appearance.
LOL! When anyone regardless of race is pulled over for speeding they are automatically asked for their ID/DL. It has always been that way.

I really don't know what laws you are referring to but U.S. Border Patrol officers are Federal officers and they can detain you if you refuse to cooperate.
