Exactly. I would agree to civil unions between any two people, maybe even more, this could be used in a variety of other situations also allowing certain legal rights and benefits for those individuals. They want it called "marriage" because many have a complex and were brought up to believe the lifestyle that they are living is a sin and even if they don't, a lot of those people around them do. Unfortunately, changing the laws of man will not change the laws of God. Marriage is between a man and a woman. They will continue to insist upon the term marriage because they believe it will normalize their activities/lifestyles. Seriously, has anyone heard an argument for why the agenda demands the word "marriage" if rights would be the same because I haven't.

Nope that is not it at all. Gay couples want to have and to demonstrate the same level of commitment to their spouses through the ritual of marriage that their heterosexual counterparts enjoy, as well as to have the same legal and financial protections others have. Whether or not you believe it is right to bring your religious views into the issue is irrelevant to the legality of the issue. And whether the laws of man will or will not change the laws (whatever they may be) of your god is also not the issue. You don't get to force your religious beliefs on anybody. The constitution says you don't. The morality of gay bonding is between those who partake and their god, whatever that may be. "Judge not lest ye be judged."
I know of no Christians that treat gays with disrespect. Did you know that God created all of us? God loves the homosexual but not the act... two complete different things.. If your loved one was using drugs would you love the drugs ? Gay sex is perverted. That is a fact. God does not approve of gay sex. A man can love another man but when they have sex it is a perversion. Same with a woman and another woman.
Next it will be a phedophile or threesome or some other perversion that people will be bombarded with calling the phedophile a second class citizen. Perversion is not natural as God intended.
So what was god's purpose of creating gays. He loves them but doesn't like the act...but god created the act if he created gays.

1) You are conveniently minimizing the sins of the people of Sodom that were the point of the story to fit your idea of the definition of the word, and ignoring the fact that the word "sodomy" has a different definition in a secular context.
All this god talk has no bearing on this issue at all. God/religion has NO place in public policy nor govt. It doesn't matter what god supposedly said. It's a red herring meant to delay and distract from the real issue. If god doesn't want gays to marry, he'll come down here and install himself as supreme leader to stop it from happening. Until such time, the rest of us wish to see the day that all adults have the ability to marry who they love, with no regard to the sex of the persons involved.
