I struggled for years with this after my best friend was killed. I eventually realized that it wasnt actually my fault.

Having attended a couple of gang funeral/wakes, all I can say is that I was unmoved. Even the most naive of kids knows that affiliation can lead to death and incarceration. When you enter that world of tats and handsigns, you have joined the dark side as far as I'm concerned.

This appears to be turning into a weekly event. There is "beat whitey night" at the state fair here. Of course the police still can't figure out if it's racially motivated or not. They haven't gotten back to us about it all for a couple years on that investigation.
