Interesting - the story didn't mention the race of the perps.

Anyone want to take a wild guess?

Actually, race has been mentioned throughout this thread. This topic has been mentioned over and over. There are large share of threads complaining about Black people in general.

For the record, I condemn the attacks that occurred. I have personal reasons for condemning them. That being said, I notice alot of people use these attacks as a way to justify their own prejudice against Blacks. Many people use what happened as a way of saying "see, Black people are a problem in this nation, they need to be avoided and detained". That is why it is hard to talk about this subject. So many people don't want to talk about the attacks. They want to talk about "how much Black people are a problem" and the like.

Default Knuckle dragging racists

I can't say for sure, but in the People's Court, what you wrote would probably fall into the racist category. White Hoods? I've heard it argued by a few black intellectuals that it is impossible for an African-American to be a racist mainly having to do with cultural history. Anyone buy that?

Fascinates me that a black brother can say anything to anyone regarding skin color and not be considered racist where if I said the same thing, I'd be branded by everyone, especially liberal whites, as a horrible racist.

Straight talking, knowing what they are talking about white people often get accused of being racist with just a few words.

Where are the black dads?

Why doesn't the black Chicago community band together regarding the 5OO murders? Why doesn't the black community take any responsibility for the murders with the exception of pointing fingers at cops who although might be knotheads, are certainly NOT responsible for one kid pulling a trigger and killing another.

Where is the national African-American leadership?

Do those questions qualify me as racist? Ignorant? Insensitive?

How about if the came from a brilliant African American reporter from the Washington Post?

Unless I've missed something, I'm the only person on the thread who witnessed the flash mob on Easter Saturday night and the one the following Thursday afternoon which was never reported at all. First off, every person I saw in the mob was black. These were black kids. Second, they were not beating up white people, stealing and surely not rioting. The local TV stations reported all of these things although none of them made it to the scene until 2O minutes later and then they mostly interviewed the same people including some black dude who claimed to be a neighborhood organizer and that these wild children went crazy. None of that crap happened. What did happen and it will always happen: when the cops show up, the kids run. That is when innocent bystanders can get hurt and things look far worse than they really are. Number of weapons found on those arrested? Zero.

On a related note. I love how the pansy ass media in this town reports crime. "Police are looking for a man in his thirties wearing jeans, a red t-shirt and Nike running shoes. When cops describe crime as they are responding to it, race is the first identifier. A white male. A black male. A Hispanic male. Hell, why wouldn't they.

White people are afraid of young black kids and the media IS part of the problem. By not identifying the race of the suspect, the media, TV mainly, are only adding to the stereotype. They are overly sensitive and politically correct to nth stupidest degree.

We have a far greater chance of being a crime victim of bankers, but those A-holes are not prosecuted.

Well, no. The young black kids who are criminals are who white and black folks are afraid of. And blaming the media is almost always unsucessfully used as an excuse ... for people making excuses for lack of anything better to say.

The media might not do a great job of reporting it, but I notice that the media has a way of reporting on the worst of the Black population. The media isn't the whole reason. However, for those who doesn't live around Blacks, or seeks to avoid Blacks, it makes it alot easier for some people to judge Blacks by the worst denominators of the population. It also makes it easier to ignore decent, hardworking Black people who don't engage in such repugnant behavior.

There is one thing you aren't considering. I've pointed this out. There are people who will take these events and use it as a reason to say stuff like "avoid all Black people" or other stuff.

There is a website dedicated to pointing out everything negative thing regarding Blacks: Stuff Black People Don't Like - SBPDL

This website would report on things like the "wildings" and violent flash mobs. However, the point of reporting on them is only to point out everything negative about Blacks.

Not everyone is like this. However, there are some people who see these acts, and will use them as an excuse to try and revert back to Jim Crow days, when the freedoms of Blacks were curtailed. I don't want to go back to that. Being Black, I've got alot to lose. People who think in such ways don't make up the majority of people. However, the people with the loudest voices will get the most attention.
