Million citizen march in Washington D.C. for congress to halt illegal immagration, secure the border the right way, and preserve the American way of life NOW! Would you join such a march? Would you be willing to spend weeks in D.C. if nessessary to accomplish this? How would you react if the opposing side showed up and became violent?

Nea1, I've been thinking about this, and I think a plan of action would be something like this:
1. Start generating interest in it. (this forum, web sites, e-mails, friends, family, the news, etc.)
2. Set a date. Would have to be some time out due to organization, logistics, etc. something for example the week of a July 4th, 2007.
3. Pull permits in D.C. to march
4. Organize with volunteers, speakers, etc.
5. Go do it.
6. "If" confronted by the opposing side we would be peaceful nonviolent showing restraint.
7. Pray that millions show up
I'm for it marks, but I'm not willing to stay in Washington for more than two days. For me, it's march, make my point, lose my voice chanting and shouting, feel like I performed my role as an American speaking my piece forcefully against a government that is ignoring me, then go home. I've been in Washington before (as a tourist), and I don't like it. I don't want to spend one minute there more than necessary, plus, it's extremely crime-ridden. As for violence...well, one can only hope the Washington police do their job to protect citizen's rights to march peacefully. But the other fear I'd have is that many of the anti-migrant faction are white supremacists or far-right whackos who would seize such an agenda if they could to spout their hate. I don't want to be around those kind of people. I envision hundreds of thousands of regular Americans who until now have been a silent majority finally and peacefully and civilly marching in peaceful protest against our government not taking action to secure our borders as needed, hold our businesses that hire illegals accountable for breaking the law, and supporting local law enforcement to do the right thing instead of ignoring their needs and the burden imposed upon them by illegal aliens. I will not allow myself to be caught in violent protest of any type, and if I saw someone breaking the law, I'd report him to police on my cell phone immediately, regardless of what kind of sign he was carrying pro or against. But if I go to Washington, it's to make my point, stamp the pavement, then go home.
Sounds good to me, all I keep thinking about is how our forefathers fought in a Revolution against a very powerful country for thier rights, and here most of us sit and just complain and our governemnet only thinks of lining their pocket books, it is sad, we are shaming the creators of our country whom were brave enough to fight for it.
I am all for peacefulness, but tell you what, if someone attacks me or my frinds and family, there will be a problem, I am not your laid back dainty women mind you I am pretty small but I am a spitfire!!!! I dont know about todays society though actually showing up, sad but it would really blow to be the only two there!!!
Is there room for millions to stand around the capitol or would they have to consider closing some streets? Maybe someone should look at how big the area actually is by looking at maps, google earth etc.

I would consider showing up too, but I can't stay around the capitol area indefinitely. If it wasn't for my citizenship, I might have considered finding a job and temporarily relocating to the D.C. area since I'm single with no kids and have an employer that would mind if I left.
I'd be willing to march as well but I'm with MoMark, I'd rather only stay a day or so. Most of us just can't stay for that long of a time frame unfortunately. Also I'd be for keeping it a civil, non-violent demonstration. The whole point would be lost if it turned hostile in my opinion.
