They are hoarding their profits, because no one wants to take risks, or expand, or invest in this 0bama, zero growth, heavily regulated, erratic economy, with a government headed by a private enterprise unfriendly, incompetent president.

The smaller businesses are collapsing, and the big, well established companies are profiting because they are becoming the only game in town.

Why, yes!

Yes, they are.

Just think, the Bush recession could have resulted in 1930s levels of poverty.

Good job, Mr President.

Your link doesn't support your silly assertion.

Wow, the right wingers have mirrors they're looking into and describe the rest of the world by what they see in the mirror. How kewl!

On Sunday evening, we stood behind a hispanic woman who used two WIC vouchers for formula, milk, cheese, eggs, etc. Immediately after those two transactions, she purchased 5 different boxes of ice cream.....with Food Stamps. This put me in a weird dilemma mentally. Should I be more piissed at her for not paying a single penny for the food that she consumes via two different government handout programs....or would I be more piiissed if she had used real currency to purchase all that ice cream while sucking off the government teet to feed her children??????

Either way, all I could do is thank God that I have never had to accept a single penny of government welfare assistance.

the threshold for Poverty for an individual in 2012 is 11,170 dollars. so yea, it is necessarily so, i picked 11,000 for that very reason.

Funny how when kids take their ball and go home, they're brats, and when adults do the same they're just being prudent.

Upper middle class and the rich hold theirs in equities and financial instruments which easily return inflation, plus capital gains and dividend returns. As equities markets have exploded, the rich are definitely getting richer.

If you want to see the middle class return strong, you need to stop keeping interest rates low and allow low and middle income workers to invest their savings in a savings account at 5-6% like it was when I was a kid.

Is that good for the lowest-paid workers who have zero savings?

??? How does knowing how the world works make one not poor? If you have no money and no assets and no skills, knowing how the world works isn't going to put money and assets in your hands.

Yes, you can thank God or whoever for that, because I've seen Republicans who have the same view you do, end up on welfare and food stamps, and it's not pretty. They suddenly hide all their disdain for those on food stamps and welfare, so conveniently.

For someone with 0 savings, the point would be moot because they have neither interest bearing accounts or financial instruments. What exactly is your point? Disagreement for the sake of starting a disagreement?
