It has everything to do with poverty. If you have the wealthy getting more wealthy while everyone else sees their income drop, that will increase poverty. Basic economics 101 shouldn't be that hard to grasp.

The point is that workers are not benefiting from the prosperity. Real wages peaked decades ago, yet profits are at record levels and the stock market is setting its own records. Companies have figured out how to wring massive margins from fewer workers. Share holders are happy. Nothing else matters. And Republicans complain about Obama not "making enough jobs."

One of the first things people learn in basic economics 101 is that we dont live in a static economy and wealth isnt zero sum.
