Put that down with the other common tax fraud every year. Government estimates they lose 300 billion just from unreported income. We need reform that will make it easier to catch fraud by it being based in all compensation and allowing simple to do and to check forms.Every night TV has ads that state if you owe government back taxes they can get them reduced for a fee;some system.

Replace the income tax with a value added tax. Then everyone who buys anything pays the tax (can't help ya on income sent to Mexico and spent there). Get rid of all deductions. Nothing for being married, having kids, having a mortgage, medical expenses (just don't put a tax on them). This elminates the need for the IRS as well.

They receive ITINs' which act as a social security number

No they don't, ITIN's do not qualify people to claim the earned income credit. They can be used to claim the additional child tax credit but not the EIC

That's my understanding too. This is in regards to claiming the child tax credit often for kids not even here in the US. Our government needs to stop this.

Why do I have this feeling that if this were in regards to some tax credit the rich got, more people would be up in arms?

Of course illegals wouldn't commit tax fraud. Anyone who thinks otherwise is either ill-informed or naive.

Upon Segall questioning the man regarding that incredible residency claim, he replied ... "They don't live here ... the other kids are in their country of origin, which is Mexico," later saying that none of the 20 children have ever visited the United States–let alone lived here.

Segall then asked why 'undocumented workers' should receive tax credits for children living in a foreign country, which is a violation of IRS tax rules?

"If the opportunity is there and they can give it to me, why not take advantage of it?"

Wouldn't it be nice if these government agencies actually did their jobs rather than react once fraud and corruption is exposed by investigative journalism ?

Billions in tax credits, billions in free phone plans, EBT cash withdrawals at casinos, etc.
This stuff is going on right underneath their noses and they do nothing until media exposes the truth.
Then they have no choice but to deal with it and offer "corrections".

Thats because government agencies operate without profit and loss signals that indicate such abuses.
When an agency runs out of our money it simply stops providing the service until more funding shows up.
