Last week I posted a poll/thread in the City-Data Relationships forum titled Are You Gay? and of the first 135 to respond, 20.7%, or 28/135 consider themselves gay or bisexual.

Do you think these stats reflect C-D users as a whole? How about the population in general? Why or why not?

I don't know enough about people's private lives to give you an answer.

I don't care enough about what should be private to give an answer. Seriously, do what you want. Just quit shoving it in my face and asking for my approval. It's your lifestyle not mine.

What do you mean about 'should be private'? If you're in a relationship, do you make sure to keep it on the down-low?

Pretty much. As much as people want to go on about their personal lives others mostly care less.

Who cares? If being gay "is normal" as people around here claim then why is it even being brought up?

I think I will stick with scientific polls. Polls where individuals choose to participate, or not, or highly unreliable. The Reader's Digest 1936 Presidential Election poll remains the classic example of the unreliability of such polls. A poll where pollees were randomly selected would, given a large enough sample size, more accurately measure C-D's gay population but most likely not society's at large.

Seems to be higher than average homosexuals on here. In the gay threads debating marriage or shining a spotlight on the sick lifestyle about half the posters seem to be gay.

I am just saying I don't really ask about peoples relationships with other people. If they tell me, that's fine, but if they don't, I don't really care.
