Then the mortgage interest deduction is repealed and walla.... more income for the federal government! More taxes.
I support repealing the unfair and regressive mortgage interest deduction...but only if it is grandfathered for current borrowers, i.e. everyone keeps the deduction on their current loan, but no new loans get the deduction unless they are re-fi of an existing loan to a lower rate.
Actually, that was proven a long time ago, This just adds to the overwhelming body of evidence thereto.
Remember, in crisis, lies opportunity - it is part of Alinsky's (Obama's) rules.
If the economy is destroyed and we can no longer borrow, there is no more money available to promote or sustain socialism, so where's the advantage in this strategy?

You are attempting to inject logic into a political discussion. There is NO place for logic in politics!
Don't forget Obama was out for weeks campaigning how horrible the sequester would be so that is what everything will be blamed on. Bush will still be blamed by many swooners but that has been worn out. Unless another hurricane comes this is all dear leader has left.

Advantage? You have peasants who will grovel for the scraps you hand out. Look around a lot of groveling going on lately.
]Idiot liberals are now trying to rebuild the Bush economy with the famous housing bubble!! [/b]
It brings to mind an old nursery rhyme:
Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall, Humpty Dumpty had a great fall, all the king's horses and all the king's men, couldn't put Humpty together again.
How very stupid to repeat all the mistakes that led to the recession that we cannot get out of.
Yes to go down this road again is idiotic unless there's a purpose to creating another bubble. As for the "Bush economy", I'm sorry but both parties had a hand in the housing debacle.
You have to wonder who stands to gain by putting people who most likely can't afford a house in one then knowingly set up another likely crash in a few years?
It isn't just a few people sitting around lamenting how these poor people can't own a house is it? Is it that simple?
