That sound you hear is the limb cracking, hope you make a good landing.

If you'd read the man's post you'd know he is a Vietnam Vet, and has a very rational, well thought point of view I might add.

there is a difference in being against a war and protesting compared to going over to the enemy's country and posing with their commanders, troops, and weapons while smiling.

Hard to believe the "Fonda fans" can't see the difference.

When I saw Jane Fonda in DC at a rally, I was standing next to a group of about 20 Vietnam Vets who had come from the midwest to protest the war in Iraq. They cheered as loud as anyone for her. As they told me, plenty of people do stupid things in their youth, but we need to judge people for how they are NOW.

Who am I to hate her for something she did before I was even born when these men, several of whom were POWs, were listening to her with open minds and forgiveness? I'd listen to these men before I'd listen to anyone on a message board claiming to have served then disgracing that position by wishing horrible things upon this woman.

That is true. I read that two-thirds of those who served in Vietnam volunteered compared with one-third that volunteered during WWII.

I don't think about her. I wouldn't trust her judge anymore now than then.In the end she is just a spoiled person of the first spoiled generation.

If there is a hell, when her time comes I hope she does squat thrust there.
When that treasonous ***** was sitting on that ack ack gun in 72, I was sitting in the bonnies trying not to get my butt shot off.
Hate her, hell yeah I do.
I have not, I repeat NOT, watched a single movie she has been in in that entire time.
My wife has never even bothered to bring one home.
Her apology, not excepted.
Yeah I understand that as youth we all do stupid things, But not all should be forgiven for our youthful blunders.
I especially am offended with her smiling and wringing her hands like some love struck school kid. Damn Her.

As an actress, I enjoyed watching her. You don't want to ask my dh about her. He may have mellowed a little since we were first married. I know not to bring her name into a conversation. He thinks she should have been tried for treason.

She is an elderly woman, who is a famous actress, whos family has been in the movie industry for decades.
She went to Vietnam, during the war, to speak about something she knew nothing about- ie how vile this country was for engaging in war with the North Viet Congs. Her words made sounds of treason and for that she is still considered by many as a trader.
Her words wounded many patriots, then and now.She is an actress, nothing more; it should be over...
