I did chastise her then and I will now. 35 years is not enough when she seems to have just flipantly put aside.

By the way, I can't remember, what's the name of this thread?

Continued business interaction between the bin Laden and the Bush families is a far more heinous crime. I still claim that she is hated for this because she is anti-war and primarily because she is a woman. Her accomplishments in all arenas of life and the reasons I initially posted still force me to see her in a very positive light.

And lionking, let's just say that both sides exploited each other. She even concedes she was used. Not everyone has the luxury of knowing when they're being screwed as it unfolds. Gosh, let's give her a break.
Most people don't want war,it's noble to prevent and disparage war,but there are bad people or governments out there who are not nice, friendly or considerate of human rights and sometimes you have to have war to bring peace, its sad but it's true.Same thing about common criminals, wishing that there was no violence won't stop violence, sometimes you gotta fight to stop it.Or you will be a victim.

I'm not too happy with today's politicians in general given the fact that they are walking a line of being to quick to use war,but on the flip side thinking that just showing non friendly governments that you are nice and mean no harm is naive sometimes also and they may exploit that as weakness.I can't imagine in WW2,just being nice would have a great outcome, sometimes you gotta beat down violent people using violence.

And again, protesting is one thing, colaborating with a enemy is another and is sending a message to your military countrymen that you support the enemy killing them.

You may know something I don't regarding any ties between Bin Laden and Bush, but America didn't support him during the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan,he refused help from us because he hated us back then along with the Soviets.America supported the Mujahideen, while Bin Ladin financed his own war against the Soviets.

Take them off that pedestal... the view is better if you look down. Just watch your step or you'll have to clean ur shoes.

Poor misguided Janie......I could almost feel sorry for her.....except.....her actions contributed directly to the inflicting of pain on an American Pilot.....for this ....she should be horsewhipped.

In any case, I think people have to come back to reality on the whole "providing aid and comfort to the enemy" thing.

Jane Fonda sat in an anti-aircraft gun of a group that our nation was actively engaged in combat with (technically we were not at war since no declaration was made, but effectively we were). She also (I think) "tracked" a US airplane with the gun and pretended to shoot at it like a kid with a stick-gun. Not quite the same as the "American Taliban" guy who took up arms against us, but similar in a symbolic way. Since US troops were POWs at the time (who I am sure were forced to hear about it), that was a huge moral blow to them, and a great "victory" for the VC.

THAT is what people used to consider "Aid and Comfort" to the enemy.

NOW all you have to do is say something negative about the Republican President (alla Nancy Pelosi)

I personally think she is a great actress (that movie she did with J-Lo was great), and her heart was in the right place with the protests in Vietnam... however the sitting in the gun turret was incredibly stupid

Here's a pic to get the juices flowin!

she's a living icon.

Doesn't anyone remember that one of the POW's that was forced to shake hands with her slipped her a note and that she gave that note to the VC? They beat and tortured those men for that. There's NO statute of limitation on treason. 35 years my ass!!

Is there any confirmation on this?If true, then there is no doubt that this is anything less than being a traitor. This is not trying to stop or prevent war, this is bias toward American military and action to bring harm to them.

You know what's laughable,if she had been a Vietnamese and did this to her government or troops she would have been A; shot or B; in prison. What twisted logic that they who do this think America is a cruel and ruthless empire compared to other nations.
