Have to admit that while I think the whole Vietnam War was both stupid and unnecessary, Jane's actions were pretty deplorable.
I am not a fan.

Technically you're correct but I would'nt advise telling the veterans that acutually fought, bled and died that they were not in a war. It would be insensitive to do so.

According to the Bush administration that still does not qualify as torture
Sadly, I think we might be doing the same or worse in Guantanamo, and we certainly did in Abu Ghraib. Who should we send to tour those facilities... probably not Fonda, but who?

Some would argue that she was brainwashed just by different point of view.
I'm sure Senator McCain would say some of them were enemies.

Guantanamo has been toured several times and they have found no torture. Abu Ghraib was bad, but not nearly as bad as what happened to people in Vietnam. Also, the people guilty in Abu Ghraib were prosecuted. They are very different situations.

Again, this was debunked. Please read Snopes.com or do some research. I linked to a few sites above. The 7 prisoners she met with said they did not give her paper. It would be better to approach this with facts from the prisoners themselves than from an urban legend standpoint.
If I was torturing people, and I was given a heads up that there was an investigation party coming, I'd stop, too. Why aren't detainees permitted attorneys? The US government is very capable of torture and murder when it suits them. Or are you saying that it's okay when the US tortures, it's not so bad? How do you defend torture at all?

To attempt to compare / contrast Gitmo to the Hanoi Hilton is, well, .......
I can't say what - it would be against board rules
But it is ........

Abu Graib, too? Why, because it was done to Americans, not just by Americans to others. US history is riddled with items like the School of the Americas where we taught torture. What about exporting our "prisoners" to outside of the US for torture? That's still happening.
Torture hurts everyone, it hurts the world. Please educate yourself on Abu Graib and listen/read something other than Fox news.

Abu Graib was a health spa compared to 'Nam - I suggest you might want to educate YOURSELF on what our men when through at the hands of the NVA (I would use the term used by the troops but, I don't think you would approve) -
