hahaha, it's amazing how anyone would use any post whatsover to bash Bush or the War in Iraq. I bet I could post a topic about the history of mustard here and someone will turn it into a debate about Iraq or say that Bush is to blame for the bad bottle of mustard they got.
People comparing putting panties on a prisoners head to hanging someone from there thumbs or bending them backwards at the spine while they beat them with bamboo sticks. Blah.
Hanoi Jane - You know most fans of the "revisionist history" that I've read here will say "oh she was just a brainwashed kid". No, she was 29 years old, a rich elitist celebrity from a prosperous family, way past being a misguided kid. Her actions were clearly treasonous weather you beleive the war in Vietnam was justified or not. She posed with smiles at a weapon (anti aircraft gun) used to kill american airmen, she posed at a staged press conference with american POW's, some who were later tortured for not giving the proper "staged" respect to jane fonda. Those facts are all well documented and sworn by the POW's at this conference.
She did apologize in an 80's interview, in my opinon sort of half assed, saying that she wanted to end the war and blood shed - like you end the war by posing at an enemies weapon of war?
No, she will never be forgiven.

Veterans are not fond-a Jane
For what it is worth to others I think that Jane Fonda should have been brought to a military tribunal for her atrocious behavior in Hanoi. Are any of you aware that brave men lost their lives when she allegedly passed on S.O.S. notes from a POW camp to her and that she gave to the commies?
As the old saying goes, Veterans are not fond-a Jane!
If I had one wish it would be to take away her U.S. citizenship and deport her to someplace like the hills of Pakistan where they might like her...the old hag!
If this seems harsh I wonder what John McCain thinks of her.

What do you think of Jane Fonda (or "Hanoi Jane" as she is known to some)?
I think she pretty much deserves most of the criticism she's received since 1972.

I agree with you, but find it odd that folks still give a damn about this as an issue for discussion 35 plus years later. If she was running for a meaningful office...but.

I was in Vietnam in 1966.
I saw Jane Fonda in "Barbarella" in 1968.
She was hot.
I saw the photo of her in North Vietnam in 1972.
I saw "Barbarella" again.
She was still hot.

One correct, this 'passing notes' story is pure urban myth.
And I believe the blame should be placed where it belongs, people like McNamara who've admitted they knew the war was wrong at the time yet pursued it any way, THEY are the true traitors here. McNamara should be arrested and tried for treason.

I respect her father a great deal. Henry Fonda has and always will be one of my favorite actors (anybody remember that movie "Warlock"? He was incredible in that movie.) Accordingly, I respect his daughter Jane. She's a great actress and I respect her right to express herself and live her life as she sees fit.
