What do you think of Jane Fonda (or "Hanoi Jane" as she is known to some)? (female, work)

I don't have the stomach to read this whole thread, and perhaps someone has already mentioned this, but I find it profoundly ironic that the US (whose laws AND whose troops Jane treated so cavalierly at the time) is one of the very few nations on earth where she wouldn't have earned a LONG prison sentence, (or the Death Penalty), for what she did in North Vietnam. (Again, my apologies if someone's already mentioned this...too depressing to read through the whole thread)...

I don't have any problem with her. The conservatives hate anybody that doesn't agree with them on the war. They tried to destory Fonda and failed. They tried to destory Natalie Maines and failed again.
lets put Jane Fonda's actions into a 2008 situation.
Take a very popular female movie star, have her go to Iraq and pose with a bunch of guys wearing masks to disguise themselves, while she grins and has her hand on a suicide bomber's bomb that just got built.
I would imagine it would cause an uproar here in the US. (i WOULD BE ASHAMED OF MY COUNTRY IF IT DID NOT)

Yes, what Jane Fonda did was WAY beyond just protesting the war (there was plenty of that, even among the military). What she did could have EASILY been prosecuted as treason..she was VERY lucky..
I served,,,did you?..I can't stand having to swap posts with someone who cannot see the forest for the trees so pleas go trolling elsewhere as you lost my attention
All serving means is that you couldn't figure out a way to get out of it. At least that's what most of my friends tried. There was a draft then. I'm a veteran of the Vietnam War myself.
Try looking at Snopes. I linked to the bogus stories months ago when this thread was fresh and new.
My military experience was mixed....mostly run of the mill type of stuff....admin....paperwork....you know....with the occasional "oh sheeee......."....

No - we just don't like traitors - like Jane Fonda
