Yes, it is a few Old Exile politicians or the grown up children of Old Exiles still alive continuing to fight Castro from 90 miles away, living in wealth and privilege in this country, who want us to continue fighting Castro for them.
It seems that now in "effectively" the travel restrictions have been lifted. And Castro is on his last leg, having outlived most of his enemies who hated him so much but chose to "fight" him from here. I think many people who have planned celebration parties in Miami for Castro's death are maybe not going to live to attend any such celebration.
He's already outlived a bunch of his antagonists...most in fact.

They wouldn't fight for their own freedom, but they think they can come here and boss us around? And use our State Dept as a proxy to do it? Why weren't they so feisty when it mattered?
I'm pretty sure finding out about any American just up and going to Cuba is going to give rise to some questions. I haven't read through the thread but it's a well-known fact that travel between the two countries is not easily accessible to anyone other than gov't officials (I imagine) or people with dual citizenship (such as my father). I would like to visit one day but not anytime soon b/c it's really not safe but also b/c it's such a huge hassle to get permission, if it's even granted at all.
Either way, Beyonce and Jay-Z do some odd things, and they are known to pal around with Obama, so it's really no wonder Republicans are questioning it. It has nothing to do with freedom, as you claim.
Cuba is safe - for tourists anyway - and it is quite easy to get permission to go there, even if you're American.

Most of my single female friends go to Cuba alone when they have a week or so off. Hit the beach in the middle of winter for next to nothing, and they feel very safe.

Lemieux said a prosecutor signed off on the arrest and that there is more to the case that can’t be publicly discussed.
