That is what leftist idealism always leads to - an oppressed underclass and privileged ruling class and their cronies.
They didn't break any laws.

Seriously, even though you go off the rails from time to time, I wouldn't peg you for one to say something THIS stupid.

JFK was a republican?

The real irony is that you don't know anything about the history or function of the Cuban embargo.

What's laughable is they claim our Cuban policy is to prevent us from supporting a murderous regime, never seemed to bother us with Stalin, Pinochet, the theiving Vietnamese Generals, Marcos, the Shah, etc., etc., etc............................................... ..........................

If they got a license from OFAC they didn't break the law. If they didn't, then they broke the law.

Nothing will happen to them though, this is just politics.

Who is this "they"?

The main reason that embargo is still in place is because of the Cuban Americans and neither party wanting to make 1 million voters angry in the great swing state of Florida.

Just remember, the Elian Gonzalez event is the reason Bush II was president and not Al Gore. It cost Al at least 100k votes in FL. Comprende?

JFK was president during the Cold War. The embargo might have made sense then, but it has outlived its purpose. The policy makes absolutely no sense today. There's no reason for Cuba to not be a US allie. If other developed countries do business with Cuba, there's no reason for the US to continue the 20th century policy.

Saudi Arabia is our allie but has a worse human rights record than that of Cuba. Give me a break.

I find it ironic. You pride yourself as a libertarian but you aren't for the freedom for anyone to travel where they choose.

Beyonce went on the Behalf of the UN and as stated earlier, you don't need a license to visit for a cultural visit.

Republicans advocate law and order and personal accountability. Unlike liberals we don't believe we can pick and choose which laws to follow. Nice try though.

1) The embargo is bi-partisanly remaining in place due to political party concerns over the Florida cuban vote.

2) I never said I supported the embargo. (which I don't)

3) Did you really just say that a libertarian should be against embargos towards a country that oppresses the freedoms of it's citizens because they can't travel there? You didn't really think that one out.
