I hear this all the time. You can't yell fire in a crowded theater, you can't slander, so if free speech has regulations so should guns.

Well, they do, there are laws that say I can't rob a bank, or murder just as there are laws that say I can't slander or yell fire in crowded theater or say I am going to kill the president. There are no speech laws that say, since I have the potential to do these things there are new laws that will stop me from having the ability to do them because someone has done or may do them.

This is what Gun banners are saying. Its already illegal to murder, or rob but since a gun or some type of gun may do it in a way they don't like they will stop me from having that gun in advance. Its the Minority report type of mentality.

So because a person could threaten the life of the president on line, I guess then we should regulate the internet because of the possibility someone would or could use it improperly and no one should therefor be trusted with it.

Why not run our news agency's like the old Pravda where it all had to go through the Government before it got to the people just to make sure it was not doing something it should not? Lets do it all in the name of safety.
