Yes, just like I would question Bradley Manning any other person who served his country. The resume is irrelevant but I can understand why some tools think it bolsters their argument.
Fortunately, as much as the asstronaut wants an "assault rifle", no one is going to sell him one without reporting it to media and thus forcing him to surrender it rather than keep it to avoid public scrutiny. That alone is good enough. I do feel for Gabby Giffords though since I can see she enjoys shooting both.
I always enjoy people using empty rhetoric like "ZOMG, heeez an honored Navy retiree!!!!111!!" and it actually makes them feel as though it's relevant to the debate.
She's probably been coerced or even strong armed into changing her stance and becoming anti gun. When it comes down to it, she's really got nobody on her side. Her husbands kind of a jerk, her "friends" on the left just want to use her and she doesn't get much sympathy either from the right.
Its a tragedy all around. But... you get what you get when you go into politics. You won't find the best people there.
On second thought, I'm thinking Gabby preferred shooting the AR-15, otherwise she would've never sent her asstronaut hubby to get one for them.
Yeah--that WAS the plan--to see if he could walk in off the street and walk out with an AR-15. The gun store owner wouldn't sell to him because he didn't want the purchase to be used an example for the need for stronger background checks and gun control.

What the right-wing noise machine left out of their rant that Mark Kelly was a hypocrite and bought an AR-15, was the fact he trying to see how hard it was to buy an AR-15. If successful he was going to turn it into the police. But he was not successful.

The form to buy a pistol is the same one used to buy an AR. He knew this. Everyone knows this.

Not so fast. Mark is going for a cushy .gov job and playing lap dog will offer an increased pension and compensation plan. Wouldn't you do the same under their circumstances? Plus, under a gun ban, he'll be exempted as he is pro-gun control. Friends and family get priority of obtaining guns during ban periods. They're just looking out for themselves, can you blame them?
Yes, having principles, morals and some class should outweigh some extra money and fame. This guy is a clown, they already both have six-figure salaries and have so for awhile along with cushy retirements.
When factor out the money, since they already have it; it really shows you what these people are about.
Mark Kelly is already above the law, his dog maimed and killed a protected wildlife species and he wasn't even accountable or punished for it.
