Want a strong family unit? Want dignity and traditional values? Want to be more than part of the herd who are taught that marriage does not exist as we know it? Be a conservative who conserves values that actually create stability and wealth. Blacks who are bright do not want to be part of the herd. They want to have their own kingdoms where a family can stand tall and be respected. What's wrong with that? Liberals hunger not for dignity and respect..they lust for debased equality no matter how low.
And it scares me that you want to believe the parties switched. If that was the case, then how come most all of the Democrats that voted against the civil rights act, remained Democrats. If the parties switched, would they have not switched parties?
A lot of Dems have been air brushing that idea for quite some time now, often referring to the 1970s for this "switch" over, when the reality is--the base on the right, is pretty much the same as it was 50 years ago. The Christian Right is still the Christian Right...the pro-american/anti communist right wing of the party is still that same party. The pro 2nd amendment types are still on the right. The only 'change' that occurred is when the left became the party of the pandering. Today, they simply frame their arguments around demographics and special interest groups in order to appeal to voters.
Why are conservatives obsessed with trying to get blacks to join up with them?
Why are blacks so obsessed with voting for Democrats, after Democrats have done nothing at all for them for the past 150 years, and in fact were the ones behind nearly all of the anti-black racial discrimination in the country since before the Civil War, to the present? Democrats formed and staffed the Ku Klux Klan, Democrats were the party that resisted blacks having equal rights for more than a century while Republicans fought to get blacks those rights, etc. etc.
Even to this day, Democrats are the ones who keep insisting that blacks cannot handle life without government assistance - blacks need "Affirmative Action", quotas in college admissions, reverse discrimination in dozens of fields, and so forth, in order to compete on an equal footing with whites.
Even when the 1964 Civil Rights Act was finally passed, greater percentages of Republicans voted for it in Congress than Democrats.
Democrats have been racist to the core, for as long as there have been Democrats. And they have done a great job of keeping blacks on the (Democrat-run) plantation, all that time.
Look at the way they scream today, against Republican efforts to encourage blacks to think for themselves, work hard for their own advancement, etc.
And it scares me that you want to believe the parties switched. If that was the case, then how come most all of the Democrats that voted against the civil rights act, remained Democrats. If the parties switched, would they have not switched parties?
Let's start with the most famous one. J. Strom Thurmond??????? if you want a list I can provide a huge one.
This is a sarcastic joke post I'm assuming now. If not... When the Civil Rights Act was signed by Lyndon Johnson, a Democrat, almost all of the Southern Democrats switched to the Republican party and began shapping the modern GOP party:
"The passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 was the event that finally moved the majority of Southern states to the Republican Party. From the end of the Civil War to 1960 Democrats had solid control over the southern states in presidential elections, hence the term "Solid South" to describe the states' Democratic preference. After the passage of this act however their support on a presidential level shifted to the Republicans. Republican candidate Barry Goldwater won many of the "Solid South" states over Democratic candidate Lyndon Johnson in 1964, and this Republican support for those states continues to this day. It was also bolstered in the next two elections by the "Southern Strategy" of Richard Nixon."
Post Civil War until about the 1960's, the Democrat party was very noted for being the "State's Rights" party for the most part, which many of the current modern "right" would identify with.
In reality the platforms and positions of the two "parties" have swapped many times in the best 200+years. No "air brushing" unless you want to believe in an alternate form of history.
Watch Hannity's panel last night with all of the black conservatives. It's getting to a pander level.
Pandering? Why, because people don't understand why your party leaders and the left wing media attack black republicans with a vengeance for their beliefs. What this tells me is liberals think that blacks do not have the right to believe anything other than what liberals tell them to believe.
I just watch a documentary on Dr King. Todays black republicans are the blacks of the 60's who are very brave to stand up for their rights and beliefs and the oppressors are liberals.
While Liberal racists divide people into groups based on their race, then treat those groups differently because they believe they can't adequately provide for themselves or compete, which is horribly racist.
The thing is, they pat themselves on the back for this, not even realizing what they're doing is racist.
