You couldn't be more wrong. It's an outstanding example of how bad guns are. All you need to do is pretend ... pretend what would have happened if this had been a gun nut, and how many more people could have been attacked in the same period of time, and how many people could have died.

Reductive much?
So then it's better to stand there unarmed and watch while hoping that you're not next? That's certainly "sensible".
Here's one possible and highly probable variable.

That all depends. If the person with the knife is on something and determined to kill you and you're unarmed it's not going to be easy to control them.

So another mass attack in a gun free zone. Humm those zones really work!

If someone is on drugs where they dont feel a thing you will not stop them if they have a gun, knife, baseball bat, or a 2 x 4. Unless you take them out 1st. Hard to do that unless you are stronger than them, a part of a group, or have a gun!

I wonder if it will come out that the perpetrator was being treated for mental illness. Or if his mother failed to adequately secure her knives. If so, will Harry Reid or Chuckles Biden demand that she be prosecuted for failing to do so? Will knives with blades over 2 inches long be banned? NICS background checks mandated to purchase an edged instrument?

Chances are if this were a gun the story would of read 14 dead due to shooting. But that is just hypothetical and thankfully no one was killed.

I agree. It is a very good thing that nobody died (I know four are in critical condition, and hoping they survive). The fact still remains though that the left will ignore and/or do what they can to minimize events like this as it does not help their cause. Sadly, it also shines a spotlight on where we are likely headed with the level of absurd political correctness in our daily society. After guns it will be knives.... then baseball bats..... then hammers..... ect..... (or any type of replica of these items). What we really need to focus on is the pervasive problem centered around mental illness in this country. These types of attacks were not a part of our society 50+ years ago. Then again, there are a lot of issues we face today that were non issues 50+ years ago.
