Not only that but federal spending has not increased under Obama the way his detractors claim. Just look at the Bush years, from 2001 to 2008 and compare them to the Obama years. Had spending continued on the same trend as the previous administration, spending would be about $500 billion more per year - every year:

It amazes me how long that same kind Bush apologist nonsense has endured, resisting basic facts and simple logic indicating how the Bush administration caused a generation's worth of damage to our national economy. The prodigious amount denial of reality necessary to ignore just how long-lasting the damage done is has been really quite amazing. It's a bit like a smoker getting the diagnosis of lung cancer from the oncologist, and then a few months later getting irate at the oncologist for still blaming the smoker's smoking for the smoker's continued poor health.
