I'd like to ask why they just dont offer tax financing to bring businesses into the area, but then I already know the answer. Democrats afraid that might create jobs, and of course their hate of the rich doesnt help. Wouldnt want those rich people to bring in jobs and get richer while reducing the need for welfare, would we?

We all know D's hate Walmart. Think of all those nasty $12 an hour jobs, food and services that could be brought into an area. No job is better than a low wage job.
Actually why would anyone open a store in Detroit? Just to be broken into and have your stuff stolen.
Seattle is controlled by liberals. Boston is controlled by liberals. Those cities are in good shape. Detroit had similar issues to other cities, such as corruption, racial tensions, and drugs. However, a one-industry economy really took it down.

Really that's why Massachusetts was ranked 49th in cost of doing business. And now our idiot governor wants raise the gas tax that should attract more business to the state.
In fairness to liberals Portland and Austin are firmly progressive run cities and are considered some of the best cities to live in. Detroit is the failure of Black liberals I think that distinction needs to be made.

last time i checked, Boston is a city and Massachusetts is a state. If you are going to substitute the city of Boston, with the state of Massachusetts, then have doomed your own thread seeing as in the last 50 years Michigan has had 4 Republican governors and only 2 Democrats. with Democrats only controlling the governorship of 16 years/ Republicans for 34.
Also a state ranking 49th in cost of doing business is not telling the whole story. Cost is only part of the equation. Massachusetts is #1 in availability of capital. And #when you average all the criteria from the list you used, Massachusetts is #28 in the rankings. pulling out the 49 numbers was subjective.

I don't know what Black liberals have to do with American automobile companies getting beat out by foreign competition. Then everyone leaving the city when they have no job which leaves large areas of vacancies. Which in the end leaves Detroit with a shrinking tax base.
