Background checks are already done at gun stores and gun shows. There are laws against gun trafficking, only they aren't enforced...

It is a shame that gun manufacturers, gun sellers, gun nuts and NRA and the conservative party have combined to pretend that allowing a bill to come to debate and maybe a vote is destroying the 2nd amendment.

By the way, did you happen to read this week's tragic news about Rev. Warren's son regarding his purchase of a firearm?

Wrong. Even Republican Senator Susan Collins acknowledged that this proposal would, for the first time, create specific criminal statutes for the trafficking and straw purchase of guns.

Given that you oppose gun control, I'm not surprised that you "don't know" these things, and that you continue to deny them.

I say bravo. They made a sensible decision. They're voting to LISTEN to gun control arguments ... and it's not even gun control, really, it's increased background checks. Good Lord.

My family has been loyally Republican since the '20s. Economic freedom. Personal liberty and responsibility. Civil Rights. Pro-business. That's what Republicans truly stand for ... not the bullsh*t that some of these social conservatives have been pushing on us lately. Good to see that Moderates are still alive and fine.
