We're supposed to learn from people who think that if you don't like the results of an election you're morally justified in shooting people? I think not!

Not as crazy but they also believe that the people who wrote the Constitution, who had to know they would be the ones running the new government, added the second amendment to the Constitution so the people could shoot them if they didn't like the job they were doing. And I do mean "added" because the provision about the right to bear arms wasn't in the original Constitution. It was added later

Look at the topics and then tell me threads are being started based on common sense and logic.

The biggest problem is that most of the people in here are totally biased, driven more by ideology than common sense. Even when they're false conceptions, misguided notions, and hypocritical views are brought to light... they prefer to rebut with more of the same.

Logic is allowed, yet painfully obvious that it isn't mandatory.

Exhibit A.

Surely this person is interested in "the facts".

The gun fetishists will have a hard time convincing me that mass murders in schools, theaters, malls, etc. is a symbol of our freedom.BTW,James Madison said the Well Regulated Militia is comprised of people TRAINED in arms so you can try selling your guns for all bul*sh*t elsewhere.
A well regulated militia, composed of the body of the people, trained in arms, is the... - James Madison at BrainyQuote

Otherwise, those uninformed about guns will scare too easily and the government will do their best to take away the guns.

You are absolutely right, and like you, I believe the solution is more guns in the hands of law abiding citizens.

However, it's really a waste of time to argue with idiots. Leftists do not know the history of our country, and moreover, they do not want to know it. It's like yesterdays news, only useful for wrapping the garbage.

As one useful idiot put it in a reply to me, "Times change." He didn't care what any so-called Founders had said years ago. Whatever they may have said was irrelevant today.

These are people that do not understand what it means to be free. Government is their "daddy." But government is what the founders feared most, and why they limited it's powers. Leftists have no fear of government. To them, it is the governments job to "level the playing field," as one told me. Government will make everything wonderful for everybody. We just need to trust.

Leftists are Progressives (which make up the vast majority of the Democrat Party), and are fascist elitists, who hold to Marxist/socialist beliefs. They fully believe that man has progressed to a higher level of understanding. They have divorced themselves from the past. They have been unchained from the "superstitions" of past generations, the ridiculous belief in an unseen "God thing". They imperiously shout down any opposition to their Post Modernist twaddle.

They simply need to be defeated, as it is unlikely that we will make any converts. They do not have the introspective brain power to change.

The don't "get it" and they never will. The do not understand that criminals will always have guns. Taking guns from law abiding citizens places people in danger.

A "gun free zone" (such as a school) is a shooting waiting to happen.
