Here's some rates per 100,000, US pop.:
2011:
Homicide: 4.7

Robbery: 113.7
Aggravated assault: 241.1
Violent crime: 386.3
Burglary: 702.2
Larceny-theft: 1976.9
Motor vehicle theft: 229.6
Property crime: 2908.7

2012

Mass-Shooting Deaths: 0.0015
Mass-Shooting Casualties (total): 0.003

In 2012, the death rate from mass-shootings rounds to 0 out to two decimal places. Does this warrant the kind of legislative response we're seeing?

Well we will say we will, but it's mostly because it's amusing to watch you gun fellas get worked up into a frenzy. Plus it allows you guys a reason to buy more guns. That slippery slope and all.

Nope. It won't stop the gun grabbers until ALL guns are banned and confiscated.

The left does not want to hear facts....

Look, it sucks what happened, I hope to never know how any of those parents continue to feel over the years to come, it's something that will never stop hurting.

However, using children as the left has done, to promote something that will not change what happened is ignorant. It's called "FEEL GOOD" legislation....

I'm sure I'll get beat up...but the truth hurts....

Actually the way I read it, not even the State can tell me what weapon I can defend myself or my nation with. We the people, just want that weapon to be well working.

No! They are the people who are willing to give up the rights of the American people for what they think will give them a little security. Of course they are not right in that thinking, but you can never tell them so, because they are too ignorant to understand. If anyone wonders how countries fall to communism and socialism, it is because of people like the gun grabbers that are willing to give away their rights. What will be next on their agenda? Freedom of speech?? Who knows?
“Those who desire to give up freedom in order to gain security will not have, nor do they deserve, either one.”

Ben Franklin.

Lets go back into the time machine and see what was proposed by Obama after all this went down and fast foreward to today and see how it has morphed into gun bans, gun registration, magazine limits, etc. Nobody is even talking about mental health screening and school safety and emergency management plans. Now why is that liberals?? Oh that's right because you don't care about making schools safe all you care about is banning guns like your heroes from back in the day did never mind.

Obama’s proposals on school safety

Unless someone is intentionally skewing the results of the poll, I can see by the outcome that no, this is only the begining of anti-gun legislation. At least from those polled here. It is one reason why I oppose same-sex marriage laws passing, because that is only the BEGINING. The end game is somewhere down the road.
