I find it fascinating that many of the most staunch proponents of the 2nd Amendment are from nations that have seen what happens when the people have no way to fend off a tyrannical government.

Apparently the gun rights are working! People have been able to kill public defenders, police, and our presidents!

People just don't understand that the freedom they enjoy comes at a cost. Nobody want to see bad things happen to good people, but in a free society, bad people will do bad things.
It's completely impossible to eradicate evil. I would rather live with the evil deeds of a few individuals than the evil of living under an oppressive government.

Just heard about this one today, although it's a couple months old. A junior high school basketball coach protected himself and two female students - on campus - against two armed thugs.
