What are you missing in that our US government, as well as 60 other countries support the Syrian opposition. Your not that dense. Come on stop fooling me.

The regime never ordered the military to fire at civilians. There were a case or two where the military acted out of order but they were never given a chance to face punishment because of how quickly war broke out. This scenario includes at most 20 soldiers and a commander or two in a country that has/had an army of half a million. Plus there are also allegations by the military officers of the protesters firing upon them and them responding.

The media gets Syria so wrong, it's ridiculous. Up until earlier this year, the source of news in Syria for all media outlets worldwide was Syrian opposition activists and militias, in other words people who have every reason.

Assad leads a secular, multicultural Syria. Free healthcare and free education for his people. Western-educated and married to a British-born woman. Up until this war, the country managed to retain a zero dollar national debt. If America had an ounce of integrity, it would support a guy like Assad for what he's done for his country, but of course, the US would rather have obedient Islamic extremists ruling Syria than a guy who refuses to turn Syria into an American/Saudi proxy nation, the same way countries like Egypt and Jordan have become.

Worth noting Assad offered the opposition dialogue two years ago when this whole conflict started for "a chance to build a Syria we all believe in." The rebels responded with guns. These guns eventually become rockets. These rockets eventually became suicide bombs. They've since done nothing but massacre civilians, blow up churches and mosques, threaten extermination of Syrian minority communities like Christians and Alawites. Most of these rebels are Islamic fundamentalists whose goal has nothing do with a "free Syria" but rather an end to the secular status of that country. Most of the original protesters have since thrown their support back behind Assad.

Here's a 40 second video exposing media manipulation of the conflict in Syria. There are dozens of videos just like this:

EXPOSED: Lies About Rastan Protest "Shooting" - YouTube

Last month, there was a report of a chemical weapon attack in Aleppo. Rebels blamed the government, the government blamed the rebels. The international community was anxious to blame Assad, but as it became increasingly obvious that the rebels had actually launched the attack, the world quietly abandoned the issue.

Not saying Syria was heaven on earth prior to this war. Just saying Assad truly catches a bad rep. I've been to Syria, gorgeous country, most people were happy with their lives. That's all gone now.

Thanks for providing more incite into the situation.

You obviously seem like the one with the biggest interest in the ACTUAL incident. Not how to spin it for or against a cause.

What do you think is the best solution for the Syrians? How can we prevent protests in the US from turning violent?

Is it true that Syria used biological weapons against their own people?

No, you "ramble" just trying to deflect attention from the fact that an Occupy activist is now working for a Syrian coalition which has a recognized terrorist faction within it.

Posters can follow the links and draw their own conclusions. This administration, in all its liberalism, labels the faction a terrorist faction and refuses to supply the coalition with arms for fear of the terrorist cell would end up using American weapons against Americans. That seems pretty clear to rational beings,...that is, everyone except you.

On a side note,.....PLEASE,....PLEASE,....PLEASE......learn the difference between "your" and "you're", and "insight" and "incite". You may own several businesses, but teaching English or writing for a newspaper is not among them.

From an article supporting your point of view.

Assad says West will pay for backing al Qaeda in Syria - World News

"The West paid heavily for funding al Qaeda in its early stages in Afghanistan. Today it is supporting it in Syria, Libya and other places, and will pay a heavy price later in the heart of Europe and the United States," he told al-Ikhbariya channel."

Did the US fund Al-Queda in its early stages?

If so, the US would've worked with a terrorist organization as well. Do you renounce your citizenship? Or do you condemn the action?

Is our government now supporting terrorist? The US government is considering arming Syrian rebels.

Or was this just an Occupy bash thread?
