Do people have to be issued an ' Islamic Jihadist' card from the Taliban to see the country from a jihadist perspective ? Whether these guys acted out of a larger anti-American worldview promoted by that perspective, or were they sick punk little creeps who decided to in your words 'have their fun' terrorizing people is unknown.
You tell me: do the members of the Westboro Baptist church see the country from a Christian persepctive? What makes those folks tick?
Someone said they didn't hear them command him to come out of the boat. I did hear that. They told him to come out of his own will (implying that if he didn't, they were coming after him). That was shortly before we heard he was in custody.
I think the police did a great job. Can't believe people are now criticizing the way it was handled. The suspects are no longer on the loose, and that was the goal. Don't understand why some are so critical.
...
You forgot about the firearms they were carrying. Were these things poorly regulated or well regulated? That's the question.
As a 19 year old, it was illegal for him to purchase a handgun anywhere in the US. Just one more gun control law that failed to serve any purpose. Criminals...don't obey laws.
We do have current background checks. So say we had enhanced background checks.
What convictions did this 19 year old have that so many think enhanced background checks would have prevented him from getting a gun ?
And was the gun obtained legally or illegally ?
I guess I'm not up to date. What news came out that many now think enhanced background checks, retroactive to God knows when, would have kept a gun out of this 19 year old's hands ?
I don't know why you're asking these questions of me. I don't know anything about gun laws, already said so.
They must already have; I know someone on ABC yesterday was talking about having spoken with him (he wouldn't go on camera) and that he was "on the verge of tears" (the reporter's words).

The 26 year old had a history of domestic violence that would have prevented him from getting a gun.
But at this point, no one knows who the gun belonged to, so it's a moot point.

Give me a break. That is some very specious logic. The gun controls in this country are so lax that they barely exist. And that is why they need major tightening. Of course any nut can get a gun. That is exactly what the NRA wants. More guns=more violence=more paranoia=more guns= more $$$$! Simple math at the detriment of human lives.
