It's not self sustaining. After they run out of money these same kids will be back on the streets.
Selling drugs is a heck of a lot more lucrative than min wage or a trip to the museum.
Min wage won't get you that nice car with fancy wheels or all that jewelry.
When your arm is gangrenous, you either amputate before it spreads to the body -OR- you die.
In a just society, where an honest and healthy community is desired to be the norm, ALL Violent criminals should be put down -ON SIGHT-, acknowledged as the rabid dogs they ARE, by either LEOs or ARMED private citizens to protect the Individual's right to Life, Liberty and Pursuit of Happiness.
Never forget; It was the armed citizen, one protecting another, that created the greatest nation in the history of mankind...
Of course, the politicos that pander to the unwashed mongrels can't have JUSTICE, as that would cut into pandering to the lowest common denominator for votes and donations (e.g. Boss Tweed and Gangs of NY).
There was a time in the USofA when productive members of society were more important than feel good, knee-jerk appeasement, but alas the masses became enlightened, and compassion was voted as the new rule of law...
Note to Mr. Prosecutor and Mr. Judge: Keep on shuffling the unredeemable scum through your profitable revolving doors, with the promise of reformation, and don't be shocked when the body (i.e. honest, profitable/productive society-at-large) die off due to uncontrolled parasitism.
