Everyone could have more disposable income if we reduced taxes.
I'd be for reducing taxes on the Middle and Lower class. Can't believe Obama did that (wait, yes I can).
I think our current corporate tax rate is fine if we just collected taxes from the corporations. Sales tax is fine in my state. I don't feel its taxes that are suffocating business. Maybe regulations.
Henry Ford had this figured out 100 years ago. Give workers more money (via wages) to spend, and they'll spend more money.
The primary motive was that he wanted his assembly line moving non-stop and people were quitting at such a high rate that he would have to make 300 hires a year for 100 positions on the assembly line. This obviously slowed the assembly line down. The only way to keep workers in such a monotonous job was to greatly expand their wages and shrink their hours down to an 8 hour day with 3 shifts from a 12 hour day.

By Obama cutting taxes do you mean continuing the Bush tax cuts? Using your logic Obama raised taxes on the middle class when he discontinued the payroll tax reduction.
As a teacher I am in the middle class...I will feel Obama's not yet in effect tax on 'cadillac' health insurance benefits. My employer will have less to compensate me with from that point forward.
Does anybody know of industries where wages are increasing?
If the current income distribution stays the same, and wages remain stagnant due to a sluggish economy, how are Americans supposed to increase their spending power?
I'm starting this thread to discuss the Economic impact our current income distribution has on our economy.
Does the current income distribution in our country hurt business? Would an economy where the Middle and Lower class have more disposable income be better?
My conclusion is yes. Americans need more disposable income to drive business in turn driving the economy.
How do you suggest Americans do this?
