I'm not deflecting. You are outraged that Colorado is changing its English curriculum to help students with limited English skills, insisting that it is only for the benefit of immigrants, but nearly every one of your posts points to you as the poster child for exactly the poor English skills that need to be addressed. It's really funny that you can't see it.
Why should they be a burden? If their parents truly cared they would have made the effort themselves & speak English in their household to help correct the problem.
Instead its pushed on tax payers.
As is English for English speakers. My son, currently in the 9th grade, is taking English. It is a core class, meaning, that if he doesn't pass that class, he won't graduate. We have never spoken any language other than English in our home, and yet, he still has to take and pass an English class to graduate.
And, yes, at a cost to the taxpayers just like every other kid in every other public school in this country.
