Nothing says "freedom" to those on the right like having big brother watching over us.
After 9/11, W and the GOP created and passed the patriot act and the DHS, now GOP rep King is calling for more cameras to watch over us in the name of "safety"

I know Peter. He may be a Republican but he happens to be right in this situation. The bombings in London were solved quickly because they have video everywhere.

Oh, when in public you have no expectation of privacy.

Why are you complaining that the GOP is taking on liberal/Dem ideas?

We do not need more government intrusion in our lives for safety.

Actually, it was a Democrat Senate and Republican House that passed the original USAPATRIOT Act, and the Republican House and Democrat Senate recently passed a four year extension to the USAPATRIOT Act in 2011, which Obama signed. Just another typical liberal that has absolutely no clue about reality, as usual.

Is this the very same Peter King who offered support in the 80's and 90's for terrorist groups in the UK? That Peter King? The only thing he should have to say about terrorism should be, "I'm sorry that I supported it."

I have to agree. Cameras in public places will deter crime. I have no issue being video taped on public. You have no reason to expect privacy in a public place.

What freedom do you think I'm giving up if they put cameras on every street corner? Seriously, someone could see me at any time anywhere when I'm out in public. What difference does it make if it's on video?

Many years ago, I said that to reporter Jimmy Breslin. He replied, "what? When Nixon was President John Mitchell was the AG and put students lie you in jail. If Humphrey had won, Ramsey Clark would have been AG and been on your side." There is a difference.
